This project took place near Chiang Mai, Thailand where Engineering Ministries International and Free Burma Rangers partnered up. Construction training and architectural/structural design all contribute to plans for building a jungle hospital inside the war zones of Burma.
Thanks Matthew, Rex, Dan, Brent and everyone else who took these great pictures.

SMARTgirl is an FHI 360-led program aimed at preventing and mitigating the impact of HIV among entertainment workers living in Cambodia. The program provides peer education and social support, and improves access to HIV and reproductive health services. SMARTgirl treats entertainment workers respectfully and celebrates their positive qualities. SMARTgirl is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the Project for HIV and AIDS Strategic Technical Assistance (PRASIT).
In this video, join Kheng in Phnom Penh, Cambodia's bustling capital city, as she takes you between her job as an entertainment worker and her outreach efforts as a SMARTgirl mentor.

Re: J'ai rêvé d'un autre monde ...
This film is a video montage from my time on the border of Thailand and Cambodia. Filmed in Poipet, the video attempts to express what life is like for the innocent children forced into slavery and child labour and also those dying from AIDS, which is an ever growing problem in the region.
Child labour, sexual exploitation, human slavery, child trafficking, disease, poverty and famine is rampant and destroying thousands of lives everyday, effecting society as a whole. The children and women are the ones who suffer the most and much aid and international action is needed to help this troubled nation.
Our community projects, both local and global, involve activities that promote social change, for the betterment of society as a whole and for the protection of our planet. We recycle, restore and deliver bicycles to the most marginalized and isolated groups affected directly by war, poverty or disease. Furthermore, we use the power of media to raise awareness of the most important, under reported and time critical issues. We aim to create a more positive attitude toward caring for people in need, regardless of race or religion, promote action within the community and strive to bring about social change.

Re: J'ai rêvé d'un autre monde ...
As most of you know, the Sound of Hope raises money and awareness for orphans and vulnerable children in Swaziland, India and Thailand. Although that sounds simple - it's really not. Each country is plagued by it's own set of problems and deep-rooted issues. Some of these problems are the same for all three countries, while others are unique to one particular nation.
This was one of the main reasons we came to Thailand - to educate ourselves. We (Ericka and I) need to have a more complete understanding of the problems facing the kids in this country. That way, we can better support our local partners and help them care for the kids who are at risk.
So, to fully appreciate the work we are doing in Thailand, it is important to have an understanding of what these kids face here on a daily basis.
Now you see why we are passionate about the Promised Land Project and the Refuge. These two projects we support are working directly with kids who are at risk for human trafficking and the genocide that's happening in Burma.
Help us support our local Thai contacts and their work.

The Legal Assistance Center is a program set up by the International Rescue Committee(IRC)-Thailand in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) with support from UK Aid. The program promotes access to justice for refugees from Burma living in temporary shelters in Thailand. Operating in five shelters along the Thai-Burma border, the LAC program aims to increase legal awareness among refugees, strengthen the capacity of justice authorities, and assist refugees to access appropriate justice mechanisms.

The Grace Garden was started by Salinee Tavaran with a mission to inspire, train and equip the refugees, villagers and families on the border of Thailand and Burma.
It's the beginning place of a cultural shift as those once stricken by poverty learn the skills that will mark a new generation empowered with knowledge and grace to permeate the nation of Thailand with new, positive, and life giving ways.
